Flooded in 1971, leaving 200,000 red gums drowned, the area has been under restoration since 2010. The red gums are slowly recovering, the bird life is phenomenal and there are many Indigenous locations of special importance, including scar trees. Summer far south. 2023, Cockle Creek, Tasmania, Australia. Part of the Southwest National Park, Cockle Creek on Recherche Bay is as far south as can be driven on made roads in Australia. Commended.
